SILKEN Vietnam joins International Conference in Da Nang

Last 9 March 2024, SILKEN Vietnam representatives joined the UK-ASEAN Day conference in Da Nang. The event itself was a celebration and a showcasing of the mutually beneficial relationship between UK and ASEAN countries.

National Economics University (NEU), VNU-University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF), and Duy Tan University (DTU)- the host of the conference – represented the Vietnamese partners. Meanwhile, both Glasgow Caledonian University and University of Northampton were present for the UK. Donna McGowan, Director of British Council in Vietnam, also sent a video message for the event.

Dr. Truong Thi Nam Thang (NEU), Dr. Pham Thi Bich Ngoc (USSH), Dr. Pham Huu Ty (HUAF), Ms. Huynh Thi Thuc Uyen (DTU), and Prof. Richard Hazenberg (UON) were also part of a panel facilitated by Ms. Zarina San Jose (GCU) where they discussed their activities and learnings from the SILKEN Vietnam project. The participants each shared about the work their Social Innovation Support Units are doing, as well as their progress in embedding social innovation within their research and curricula.
